Līfþræst

līfþræst (leef-thraest) is a coined word inspired by Old English and Old Norse roots. It draws on līf (“life”) and ræst (“rest, repose”), while echoing the Old Norse name Lífþrasir (“the one eager for life”). The title holds a dual resonance, suggesting both life’s breath and life’s rest and speaks to the fragile balance between vitality and stillness, survival and surrender. This work is a poetic reflection on the rhythm of time, the weight of pride, the stillness of death, and the turbulence of anxiety.
